- Number skills: place value, the 4 operations, negatives, fractions/decimals/percentages, rounding, ratio & proportion
- Measures: metric units & conversions, time & timetables, money & budgeting, perimeter/area/volume (as needed)
- Shape & space: 2D/3D shapes, angles, symmetry, coordinates, scale drawings (plus Level 2 topics where relevant)
- Data handling: tables, charts/graphs, averages (mean/median/mode/range), basic probability (Level 2)
- Problem solving (throughout): choosing the right method, multi-step questions, showing working, checking answers
