Description
Our GCSE Maths Catch-up course is an expertly designed tutoring programme, led by a qualified teacher, aimed at preparing Year 10 and Year 11 students for their GCSE exams. Over three separate 6-week programmes, students will progressively build their knowledge and skills in key areas of the GCSE Maths syllabus, ensuring they are fully prepared before the final exams.
- 6-Week Cycle 1: This introductory cycle focuses on the fundamental concepts such as number systems (working with fractions, decimals, and percentages), algebraic expressions (simplifying and solving equations), and essential geometry (understanding shapes, angles, and area/volume calculations). This cycle is ideal for students who need to build a strong foundation in key maths skills.
- 6-Week Cycle 2: The second cycle delves into more advanced topics like quadratic equations and factorisation in algebra, graphing linear and quadratic functions, and introducing probability and statistics (covering data representation and analysis). This cycle builds upon the basics, introducing more challenging concepts that are essential for GCSE success.
- 6-Week Cycle 3: The final cycle covers higher-level topics such as simultaneous equations, trigonometry (focusing on solving right-angled triangles and using sine, cosine, and tangent), and further statistics (looking at averages and interpretation of complex data sets). This cycle rounds off the full revision process, preparing students for exam conditions and problem-solving techniques.
Each cycle is designed to cover different topics, allowing students to book just one 6-week programme or combine two or three cycles (up to 18 weeks) to cover all key content for their GCSE Maths exams. With only 10 student spaces per class, students benefit from focused, individualised attention to help them achieve their full potential in the subject.
